    Connect external loudspeakers to 24PHT5219

    Hi
I just bought this TV for my Kitchen. I think the loudspeakers are too small, so I went out and bought a couple of powered loudspeakers and connected them to the headphone output of the TV, just to find out that the volume control on the remote doesn't work on this output. Then I tried the optical output, but no! The volume only works on the built in loudspeakers!!
How can I connect some bigger loudspeakers to this tv?

    Hi Musicmind,

The headphones volume is adjusted in the settings menu. The remote control volume buttons are not intended for external output adjustment.

For headphones volume please find the settings using the Settings key on the remote (cog wheel symbol).

For all audio output it is usually recommended to use the volume control of the external device. The audio volume output of optical is not adjustable on the TV.

    Best regards,
    Ina

I know that the headphones output currently can't be controlled by the remote. The sound on this TV is very poor, hardly much better than the sound from an iPhone! If I want to connect a couple of loudspeakers to the TV I have to use a second remote to turn the music up and down!! I regret my purchase although it's white!

I have added a soundbar to this Philips TV too to improve the sound quality on TV programmes, I have the Yamaha YSP 2500 speaker which has HDMI ARC but I can't get any audio when I use the built in TV freeview tuner, could you let me know what menu settings I need to adjust please? Thank you.
