    NetTV-App YouTube don't allow special characters for login / password like "+"

    Net TV YouTube Anmeldung / Passwort mit Sonderzeichen ist nicht möglich.


    I had a lot of troubles, E-Mails and phone-discussion with Philips Help Desk
    about "sign in" to my YouTube account via the Philips NetTV App.

    My problem was, I could not sign with my Google-login-data to Net TV App YouTube.
    Via Internet it worked well also to the Philips NetTV App Picasa.

    I have found the reason and the bug:

    The Philips Net TV YouTube App. don't allow special characters like "+"
    in the password.
    Internet YouTube allows special character like "+" .

    My TV:

    Dear Rainh,

    unfortunately this is not te only missing feature of You Tube in Net TV: have you tried to select the resolution of the video? (720p or 1080p, etc...)

    This is impossible. :-(((( Very annoying and unacceptable lack.

    @Nettle, you are right but I don't think Philips is responsible for the way the services work, i.e. how they are implemented. This should be communicated to Youtube, for sure they will be interested in improving the experience of TV consumers as the connections generated are indeed quite high already.

    Dear Rainh,

    You can enter the symbols in the password field. When you are on the input field, just select the onscreen keyboard by pressing the OK button. There you can select symbols. The "+" is available, and many other symbols.

    When I enter something with symbols, I do not get a message about symbols not being allowed.

    Perhaps you can try again?

    why Daily Motion has got the "HD video" section that is selectable and You Tube not?

    Are we sure that is You Tube guilty?

    The problem - I think - is that on a web browser, the selection of the video resolution is inside the Flash window, it is part of the "plugin" control.
    In NetTV you can't see that button, because it's not a tag on the page that you can navigate to. You loose that control.

    Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    I think that just proves it is a service implementation and not a TV "browser limitation".

    Which for me proves it is up to the service provider how and what to implement on his service.

    I thin the OP means that logging into the service doesn't work, and attributes this to the fact that his password, which he is able to enter, contains a '+'. So no error, but logging in doesn't work.

    What happens for you if you change your YT password to something that includes a '+'. Can you still login via the YT service in Net TV?
