    HTS5591/12 4:3 not stretched to 16:19 on USB/DLNA video

    Hi,

When I try to play video files on my HTS5591/12 from an USB medium or through DLNA, I noticed that 4:3 files are not stretched to fullscreen 16:9. My setting in 'video settings' is set to '16:9 Widescreen' so technically speaking it should stretch my video to the full screen.

When I plug in the USB in my 46PFL7605H television I play the same video file with the same setting active in 'video settings' (16:9 Widescreen) & on the television set it actually does stretch to the full screen.

Is this a bug in the HTS set and can this be fixed in future firmware upgrades please? I would like to be able to choose whether I want my video stretched or not and according to the current '16:9 Widescreen' setting the device SHOULD stretch. Devices are connected through HDMI 1.4.

    Software version: 1.13.00
    Subsystem SW: 34-00-00-07

    Regards,

    Kevin

    Hi,

can you set up your HTS also to "16:9" - is then the behaviour the same? What TV do you have? Maybe your TV is the problem. Can you play an 4:3 DVD with your HTS and do you have then the problem, too?

    Hi

When I set the HTS to 16:9 the problem still remains. DVD with 4:3 picture works fine, picture is stretched to 16:9. Avi files with 16:9 resolution are also fine (from USB or DLNA). It's only with files played from USB or DLNA that are 4:3 that won't stretch to 16:9.

TV plays the same files (it's also Philips; 46PFL7605H) and does stretch to 16:9 (with same setting) so I guess the HTS refuses to stretch 4:3 to 16:9 when using USB or DLNA. Bug perhaps?
