Philips smart 7 series and 3D on the PS3
Hi,
Have to open a new topic. Just registered as a member. I am in shock to hear from other forums that it seems even though Philips was marketing series 7 as being fully 3d ready (and thus compatibile) it seems taht there are problems with Sony PS3 3d gaming and playing 3D movies. I have a 42 inch 7666 . Very happy with it but I am disappointed that for the time being there seems to be no support for 3D gaming since other users are reporting that the PS3 is not recognising the TVs as 3D capable
Is Philips aware of this issue?
Can philips and other users elighten me on this. Was hoping to play GT5 in glorious 3D and play 3D blu-ray with ambilight in a few weeks. Till ow it seems that we are gonna miss this !
Please help....

Hi,
this TV has Easy 3D - did you installed the latest firmware (10.94.1)? Also you need to update your PS3 to the latest version. Your PS3 need to be setup to the TV (somewhere you now have the option for 720p 3D or something else).

Toengel,
I installed the latest software Versie: 000.010.094.001. Also the PS3 have the latest update. The setup from the pS3 is tested by us. We conect the LG42ws650 from our neighbours and it was working.

Hi,
can you try to connect a 3D blu-ray player?
(Are you sure you have a 7666? For example the 7466 does NOT support 3D).

I am sure i have a 42pfl7666. In the user manual is written that the tv can play 3D.
I have a HTS 7200. The HTS 7200 is 6 months old. Thats why i try to connect the PS3.When that not gone work i have to buy the new HTS 7200. But i will wait a few weeks if Philips solves the problem.

Guys, I own such a TV set and mine IS capable of 3D via PS3.
@Toengel: 10.94.1 won't do anything concerning 3D playback. 10.65.11 (that's the one that should've been installed before) will run as well.
@jurgbutt: try restoring the defaults on your PS3. After that, the PS3 should fire up some sort of first-time installation where - at some point - the TV set will be properly recognized as a 3D-capable display. See for yourself what happens when you insert a 3D game/BD after that
