Unhappy BDP 7500 Mk2 stoped working after update

    Hello,

It seems that I bricked my BDP7500 while updating to the 1.56 Firmware Release coming from 1.53 (going the USB-Stick way).
Everything worked fine until the device said "restarting" and restarted. Know it only shows the PHILIPS Start-Screen. And nothing else happens.
    Very disappointing.

Is there anything that can be done from my side? Is it possible to open the slider to get my last Blu-Ray out of the device, before sending it back?

    Hi,

there you have your reason why your player does not work anymore. The firmware installation instructions EXPLICITLY say that you NEED to remove ANY disc BEFORE upgrading...

I don't know how to open the disc.

My User-Manual didn't tell me about this. (Page 30f German Manual)
We talk about an enduser device, so why is this thing starting an update when a disk is present inside AND this fact is deadly? Strange things o.0

Yes, the BD is still inside.

    Hi,

    see: http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/b/b...12_fin_deu.pdf

But you are right, the player should display a message and should automatically eject the disc...
