tune in radio
Recently it has not been possible anymore to receive the stream 99.5 WCRB using the Net TV tune in radio application. I get a message: "Not supported - no compatible stream". This is surprising, as the stream is definitely available using the tune in radio *internet* application. Does Net TV block this stream? Why is that?

Hi
I am having the "Not supported - no compatible stream" problem with BBC radio.
Other stations seem to work OK
Can someone check if theirs is working, or is it just me ( I have only just set up me TuneIn account)

Hi Paul
The Net TV Tune in app didn't have many BBC radios by default; only BBC World Service
if I remember ( I'm not next to TV at the moment)
I set up an account on TuneIn radio web site and added "BBC Radio4 (BBC R4) 93.5FM" to my presets.
This station became visible in the Net TV TuneIn presets on the Philips TV, but had the no compatible stream error....
I live in France ( not sure if that is relevant, but I get the feeling that the Philips NetTV is somehow linked to where you live, but I'm only guessing)
Hope that is clear
Bryan

BBC radio - not supported - No compatible stream
Dear Bryan, I was able to reproduce your problem (in Belgium): 93.5 BBC Radio 4 appears on the list of my presets but is "Not Supported" (No compatible stream) in Net TV. I can however listen to this stream using the "tune in radio" application in my browser. So it is really a Net TV problem. I really would hope that Philips can solve this problem.

BBC radio not suppported
BBC stations uses AAC or WMA codecs,
which are not covered by Net TV.
Tune-in Radio thus show an audio and textual message to the user listing that the station cannot be played on the device. The user will be able to listen to the station though on devices that support AAC and WMA (such as on TuneIn.com or on their iPhone or on Streamium).
We filter BBC to not show on a standard Browse view of Net TV devices. However, if the user adds it as a preset, or does a specific search for the station, they will see this not supported message on the Philips Net TV for BBC Stations.Last edited by Philips - Mark; 07-26-2011 at 09:24 AM.

What you can try!
set up an DLNA Server on your PC or NAS in the home network.
(Twonky/TVersity) add the Stations in this DLNA Server and stream them this way.
you can access them with "browse PC" option.
Twonky delivers by Default the Option to Stream Shoutcast Music to the Network from the Internet (see options in Twonky Server)
Tversity needs to have the Streamlinks added to its database
Twonky (30Days trial)

Tom
Thanks; I'll look into that
But I would prefer something that doesn't depend on a PC running ( we tend to shut our PC down to save energy... and the planet ;-0 )

i totally agree, maybe you have a Router with build in USB port and DLNA Server (Fritzbox) or a Network Storage with build in DLNA Server, so there is no need in having the PC on

For a NetTV app that has a probelm, who should be contacted for suport, Philips or the app provider; in this case TuneIn radio ?
TuneIn works OK on a computer, so is Philips to contact point for "Not supported - no compatible stream" ?

TuneIn Radio is not working at all now (latest 140 firmware, 37PFL7605H/12 TV).
Grey backround, nothing else on screen.
