3D on 21:9 cinema tvs
Dear Philips,
As said at another point there are rumors saying that some of the new features of the new 58pfl9956 cinema tv are going to be implemented to the old 58pfl9955H one.
These features may include control of the 3D depth and 2D to 3D conversion.
I can understand that a new tv may have additional features based on its new improved hardware. Thus I would not expect 2D to 3D conversion nor usb recording because both probably are hardware related issues but what about control of 3D depth?
3D depth is more or less a software related issue so it could be implemented to 58PFL9955 through a firmware update.
Please let us know because 58pfl9955H still is the top of the series till the new 58pfl9956 comes out.

Hi
I can confirm that 8/9000 Series will come with 2D to 3D and on that matter also with a 3D depth calibration but only for the 2D to 3D.
Just to be clear, the 3D depth control will not be available on native 3D content (3D Blu Ray etc).
Regards

Hi Thomas,
I have a Philips booklet. There is also stated that the Cinema 21:9 GOLD (50PFL7956) will also have 2D to 3D conversion. Can you confirm that?

What about my question Thomas?
Is there any possibility at all for 2D to 3D conversion to be added to 2010 top 8000 and 9000 series?

Hi Nick
I'm sorry but I will not discuss about possibilities.
That's what we will leave up to you.
Thanks for your appreciation

Let us hope then Toengel. 2D to 3D conversion is a must.
For the usb recording I am sure though it is not possible, even if it was possible our remote lacks the required additional buttons to control it,
However if somenone is really interested for recording and time shift of our models he may use the pvr recorder neotion module.
It works like a charm through our CI+ function.
