    Audio sync on 40pfl9705

When playing dvd's or watching HD channels on my 40pfl9705 I experience major video lags. It is annoyingly visible. Turning every smart feature off seems to have some effect, but I really need some setting dor delaying audio.
I'm using .37 sw. Is there any way I can tackle this?

    Cheers,

    Ben

you can(and should) install at first the lastest FW for this TV (.39) then check if this is happening on the internal tuner also.

You need to add a delay of 180 ms to your av amplifier, or use the SPDIF/HDMI ARC of the TV, with 0 ms delay.

Thank you for you replies. Of course I could install 39, will do that when I'm home.

The video lag I'm speaking of occurs with both external and internal sources. It's quite obvious to me that all the fancy image quality improvement features in the tv cost some processing time and thus cause video lag.
So, when only using the tv, using tv speakers and a CI+ module inserted into the slot for watching HD channels, I have severe lag. It would be very handy to have some audio delay setting for this in the tv.
The same problem occurs when using my all-in-one dvdplayer / home cinema set. But in this case, the audio delay feature would have to be in the dvd player.

When you are listening from the TV speaker, should never be a lag between image and sound:

    1) When using the internal DVB-T tuner: no lag should exist, no matter the settings of the TV. I have experienced some sporadic lag issues with 140.36 & 140.37 firmwares, but not with 140.39. Rebooting the TV solved these in the past.

    2) When using external set top boxes: again no lag from TV speakers.

    3) Using CI cards: no experience, no provider uses CI cards in Greece.

All connected devices to the TV that output sound (amplifiers, sound bars, etc), need no sound delay when connected to the outputs of the TV (SPDIF/ HDMI ARC).

But if they are connected directly to the source (and not the TV), they need to have a delay, from 55 ms to 200 ms, according to the TV and TV settings (either in the source, or the device that produces the sound).

From what I understand, you have problems with a CI card and HD viewing. Does the lag shows up also in SD with the CI card?

    I tested some things.
Lag only appears when watching HD channels using the CI+ module inserted in the tv.
There is no lag when watching the same channels in SD, using the same CI+ module.

The module is a Neotion CI Plus CA. The provider is Ziggo (Netherlands).

Is there anything I can do to solve this?

I had the same problems, upgrading to 140.039 seems to solved most of the problems. Anyway, it's much better then before

Thanks! Indeed, after upgrading to 140.039, audio and video are in sync again. Much better indeed
