Philips Wi-Fi USB adapter (WUB1110)
Hi. I have a question about the Philips Wi-fi Adaptor. I recently purchased the BDP3200/05 Blu Ray player.
My question is - To use the internet wirelessly via my router, can I use any Wi-Fi usb adaptor, or does it have to be the Philips one (wub1110). As I'm sure others have found, the Philips one is expensive!!
Thanks!

I myself use the Philips one, it has some sort of guaranteed performance... never had any network issues with my device
but yes, if there re some other dongles that work well with the player too, why not choosing the others... I'd like to know that as well...

Hi,
I'm not sure if the WUB is the right Philips WLAN stick... please take a look at the Product Spread Sheet for the right stick. Philips offers also a PTA01 WLAN stick...

The PTA01 is a wireless adaptor for Philips TV's. The instruction manual for the BDP3200/05 Bluray player says to use the WUB1110.
Will try a different adaptor when I get chance and report back here.

Thanks both. I am using a WUB1110 for my BDP5100 and it does work great.

I have actually tried a DLINK one as well, and that's not quite working for me. (Maybe it's the router configuration... )

Hi,
as far as I know, Philips devices have only drivers for the Philips WLAN stick... Maybe one could connect the Philips stick on a PC to find out, what hardware is inside the stick... maybe it is only a labled stick from a different vendor...

do you have a smartphone? if yes, MyRemote can be a good programme...
what you have to do it put those files in the same network by your PC, connect your smartphone and blu-ray players to the same network

Hi,
As far as I understood you have to go for the wub1110 since this one is for sure compatible. For others I have heard that they might cause problems.

Cheers for the feedback. Shame as they are much more expensive than others.
