32PFL3606h USB videos, wrong aspect ratio?
I tried to play some files from my usb drive, files with 16:9 aspect ratio played correctly. If the aspect ratio was something else, I got only distorted 16:9 picture. I did not find any option to change the aspect ratio, am I just blind? Is there any way to fix this?

Forgot to mention that my tv seems to be missing that "auto format" option on screen format settings. Shouldn't it be there?

Actually it does not. It stretches everything to 16:9. Is my tv faulty or what?

My TV is 32PFL5606H and I have the same experience... There is nothing like "PICTURE FORMAT" option in "adjust" menu as FAQ says. It works probably only on VHS/DVD/programme but not on USB..
It's pretty annoying.. Could anyone help us, please?

Hello all,
I would like to join your request for a general better development of the USB media player on this TV. I would also add the option for more audio / video codec support as i asked in another post
Thanks

Somebody working on this issue?
Hello,
I thought, that somebody (philips devels?) would answer our questions (or at least tell us where's the bug), but this thread seems to be mute now... Does somebody work on this problem? Or is it already solved?
Cheers.

hello.
How did you managed to play video files? My tv always shows me a warning, that usb is empty.. I format it to NTFS/FAT32. I tried to play mkv, avi and mp4 files, but no success. I also updated firmware from 2.12 to 2.2...
Thanks for help.

Same problem....
Hi, I have the same problem with my TV playing videos from USB. I can't change the aspect ratio. Anyone have a solution? Any workaround?

Same issue here... C'mon Philips, stop ignoring the troubles of your customers! There are already several threads about this topic! You can't expect that everyone starts buying the new, expensive 21:9 models because of this. My TV (37PFL5604h/12) is 2 years old and I can't play 75% of my movies in the right aspect ratio. Don't give us a reason to go to the competitors...

Philips 4606h
Same problems as stated above.
TV stretches picture vertically during USB playback, changing aspect ratio on my PC is not an option. A friend of mine owns 5405 and it can change picture format during USB playback, why can't you enable this feature in 2011 4606 models? It's a pity that there are tons of complaints on this forum about this issue and company does nothing. Quite strange that this feature is not new technology and works with TV but not with USB, probably it's possible just to copy the program code from one firmware to another to enable it.
Hope that Philips won't be deaf to our complaints.
Best regards

I have the model 40PFL6606/78. movies with fake 720p (1280x544 for example)
they are stretched in all formats chosen on TV (except without scala, which is small on the screen).
I do not understand! because the films to fit should be with horizontal edges. As happens with 1080p. (who get the correct aspect ratio)
I do not understand.
