Question What does "DTS 2.0+digital" mean?

    Hi,

can somebody (Philips?) explain, what exactly "DTS 2.0+digital" mean? I see that logo for example on the BDP2800 and also on the HMP3000.

Does that mean, that DTS is outputted as 2.0 only when using analog and full DTS via digital output? Or does it have another meaning?

    "DTS2.0+digital out is a downmix of a multichannel signal (5.1/ 7.1) to 2.0"

    Hi,

so if a device has "DTS 2.0+digital" I do not get Multichannel via Analog out and also not via SPDIF out, right?

this does not mean that the unit is only able to output 2.0. it means that the unit also output 2.0 as a downmix if needed (for example when you use a stereo amplifier with digital input) ...

    Hi,

ahh - I understand. The devices can output both:
    - Multichannel DTS and
    - a downmix to 2.0
