Unable to update firmware on BDP 3100
Problem, as the title says. I have followed both methods of upgrading firmware to the letter. When I try using USB drive, it can see the folder, but says it has no content. When I try via the internet, it says no upgrade found. I have firmware version 1.27 at the moment.
Also, there is an issue with model number. On the back of the player it says it is a 3100/05. When I check the firmware version, it says it is a 3100/12. Serial number is SM1A1040004684.
So, cannot update firmware at all, and cannot even be sure what model number it is. Very very poor service all round quite frankly. Any suggestions welcomed, or is it a case of we have your money so FU?

With USB drive, I tried both. Each time the player said the folder had no content. Via the internet, the player just claimed there was no update available.

Hi,
take a empty stick and extract the content of the ZIP:
USB-Stick\UPG_ALL\BDP*.bin (two files in the one subdirectory of the usb stick).
1.42 is the latest for your player...

Hi OxfordDon,
did you put the extracted files into an empty folder named UPG_ALL, in the root directory of the USB sticks?

I tried all that Kiro and Toengel, thanks for the help though. I have now reformatted my USB stick, and redownloaded the firmware, and it has worked straight away. Don't know which it was, but it worked. Should have thought of those two options earlier. Anyway, thanks for the replies.
