charging gogear sa018 MP3 2Gb player
Hello everybody! I've just bought an mp3 player model gogear sa018 2gb. I read in the support manual that it has to stay in charge for the first time 3 hours and then it should appear a green light. I left my device in charge for about 5 hour but the led was always red! Can you help me? I have to install anything?

are you using the latest firmware?
1
You can download a software called device manager in a link like the below... except changing the red part to your model number:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?scy=GB&slg=ENG&sct=MP3_PLAYERS_SU&cat=M P3_AND_MEDIA_PLAYERS_CA&session=20110815012332_161 .92.51.225&grp=SOUND_AND_VISION_GR&ctn=SA018302BN/02&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_Software
2
Install the software and keep it open
3.
plug in your player so that the device manager (the software)can detect the model
4.
choose upgrade your player (not repair... that will cause data loss...)
by the way do you know the serial number of your model as well?

always yellow or red?
if that's always yellow (maybe that's a green light, you know the light is always difficult to tell the colour) and may means that the player is fully charged?

The light is seems to be a colour between red and orange
... I tought too it could be a problem of the led but when I push the the power button it doesn't play anything!

if i were you, i will plug it off, hard switch off by inserting a pen into the reset hole.
wait a few seconds, press power on button, see if it can waken up or not.
if not, charge it to the PC.
what i know maybe that... you said you've charged it for 5 hours, but it's not really charging if you haven't yet upgraded it to the latest version
so before you did the upgrade, there may be a bug in the player misunderstanding your player is damaged, so it wont charge (always red light)
and then ... when you upgraded your player, this is fixed, and then you may have to charge again...

The same problem
I am having he same problem. I tried:
1. Changing the USB port;
2. Changing the computer and the Windows version;
3. Hard switch off through the reset hole;
4. Restored through the software.
None of them solved my problem. When connected it has the amber light keeps flashing, but even leaving connected by 8 hours, it still flashes and the device does not turn on.
This is so disappointing...
Can anyone help me?

Gave up
I have just tried another usb charger. It is still not working.
As I looked for help everywhere, I am giving up: this will become my stylish (and expensive) 2GB memory stick.
Thank you.

Hi guys,
I bought an Gogear mp3 SA018 4Gb some days ago and i'm having some problems using it. It started when i use de FM function. When i use the radio i only have 2 or 3 minutes of battery and when i use the mp3 function i have something like 20 minutes of battery. This is quite strange because the Mp3 is new and a have the las firmware. I'm only waiting for some comments or solves because i'm thinking to give back the product and receive my money. What can I do to solve the problem?
Thanks

So the battery lasts nothing, even when fully charged?? When you charged it first time did you wait for the green light to appear?
