No files when navigating on USB HDD connected to BDP3200

I don't see the audio MP3 files contained in some folders on my HDD.
The USB HDD is NTFS formated and capacity is 500GB. It works fine when connected to my TV a 42PFL6606H.
Is anybody facing a similar issue, is there a work around or is it a bug.
Weird thing is than it see the file via the "music" menu, but not all of them : the number of file seen varies from one attempt to the other.

I have tried on my BDP3200, and it seems quite normal for me, both folder view and music view

Would that be some codec problems for your files?

I don't think it is due to the codec as there are some format I don't see and I know it is due to the codec. The DVD player is more up to date than my TV : there are some files I can only read on the player, not the TV

In fact I just realized that I was not accurate in my statement below, I see some of the MP3 files both in folder or music menu.

There are more than 3000 mp3's, and when I play the tracks with the music view, the total number of files displayed at the top of the screen varies from session to session.
It is as if the player needs time to scan the files at some point of the initialisation process but there are too many files, and it does not have enough time to build some kind of file table ??? It is just a guess, as an explaination, I can see the folder tree with no issue.

I have 589 songs in my HDD and it does work every time using music view, telling me the total number of songs are 589. Maybe the number of songs does matter...

No surprise for misunderstanding, this is my statement that was inacurate
589 tracks is already a lot so this may be something else, only guys who are involved in the DVD firmware development can answer that type of question on limits of their soft?.

I guess so... it may be possible that the USB connection of the player could not give enough energy to the HDD.
I would try with a self-powered one

To be honnest, I tend to doubt it as I've also been playing HD film from the HDD with no issue, and then the data rate is high so as well as the power consumption. Also all other behaviors are OK, I'm wondering what makes you think it can be a lack of power?

Once I called the Philips support because of HDD recognition issue and they told me that the HDD has to be self powered.
I admit mine was not recognized at all, but when I tried a new one, w/ higher capacity, it was (is) perfectly supported...
it's my experience, that's why I'm giving you this advise... if you can test it, (obviously w/out buying a new HDD!) you can share your feedback here

Thanks for sharing your experience anyway, I really appreciate, any tip is worth trying.

I tried again yesterday evening to get a tip on the root cause. Init works just fine, but number of files seen varies from times to time : first time 2800, next 2000 next 2200.. sometime the files appear in a folder, next time the folder is stated empty and it seems that waiting at startup once I choose USB, but before navigating improves the number of files seen.
If somebody has an explaination, I'm curious to hear it.
