I own a Philips Cinema Gold TV (fw 14.80). I tried watching a 3D movie via USB that I downloaded for free from the following page: http://huberbuam.zdf.de/ZDFde/inhalt...352935,00.html This is a side by side 3D movie so this option must be enabled in order to see 3D.
I'm experiencing difficulties playing this movie. I mean it plays but after just 40 seconds, the TV resets the signal and the movie starts playing again from the beginning. I have to activate the side by side option again and then I'm caught in the same loop over and over again.
I'm sure the movie isn't faulty, I downloaded the file multiple times to be sure it's not a problem withe download. Does anyone also experience this?

3d side by side solution
Dear all,
I own a philips 50PFL7956H/12. And i allso encountered problems playing 3d content via usb, or via my pc linked with a hdmi cable. If i send a side by side 3d movie the tv displays two separate pictures side by side. if i select the option side by side, the tv goes black (it's trying to combine the two into one 3d movie, but fails) and then displays the movie as two side by side pictures againe. however if i go to adjust--> 3d and first select 2d, then againe click 3d and select 2d to 3d conversion then againe click 3d and now select 3d side by side. then the tv succeeds in combining the two side by side pictrues into one 3d movie. it works for me all the time and i hope this works for all of you to. However i hope philips will fix this in the next firmware update.
please poast a reaction if you tried this and it worked or did not work for you

Hi,
please write in English - this is an international forum. Or you can use the Google translator.
Why do you want to watch BDs over USB? Blu-ray player are connected via HDMI. For MKV support, see supported codecs: http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...TS-and-Blu-ray) - it's the same as in 2010 models.
If you need a player which supports more codecs, please take a look at Philips HMP devices (HMP3000, HMP5000).

3D in movies works!
Great news! 3D works with the latest firmware (21.10.) on my 7606! Thanks very much, Philips!
I can play my side-by-side mkv over DNLA and USB, and can activate 3D!
Didn't test it with resolutions other than 1920x1080 though.
For lower resolution videos, 3D could not be enabled, unfortunately.
Thanks Alex for the hint to the Huberbuam 3D movie!
Haven't tried it over USB yet (did you?), but through ZDF Mediathek, I could _not enable 3D.
Or, Did I miss something and this already works?
Feature Request for 3D movies over USB:
- Enable 3D for video resolutions other than 1920x1080 from USB (Update: also works for 1280x720)
- Add option to switch left/right side
- Enable 3D for NetTV (works for 1280x720 I guess)
At the same time, regarding 3D pictures from USB/DNLA:
JPS is not recognized and enabling 3D JPG pictures wasn't possible (not even on 1920x1080 pictures).
Showing an interleaved JPEG of 1920x1080 worked in general, but the colours were fuzzy
- obviously the JPG compression messed up the colour between even and odd lines.
Feature request for 3D JPGs:
- Enable 3D for side-by-side resp. top/bottom JPGs
- accept .JPS as JPG-stereo with side-by-side image
- accept JPG resolutions other than 1920x1080 for this
- Allow side switching
Matthias
PS: Is there actually something like a categorized "bug"- and "feature request"- tracking system like on sourceforge?
Like 1 thread per item?
I have the feeling, a lot of issues, ideas and potential workarounds are lost in megathreads..Last edited by matthias; 02-28-2012 at 01:09 AM. Reason: 3D can also be enabled on 1280x720 movies, not only on 1920x1080 movies.

hi guys,
I have a 32PDL7906H and this weekend I have enjoyed some 3D movies via USB and also played with my PC connected via HDMI.
I don't know if this is correct or not but I found this website (www.3dsbs.com) where you can download movies in side-by-side format.
Still the only obstacle to be completely satisfied is the lack of support of DTS
Regards,

Hi
we do support 3D on HD content only!
About Pictures and 3D, we do not support 3D Images as we do not support the Formats, needed for this one.

Thanks for the fast reply!
Actually, the JPS File is a standard JPG, just with some additional info. So, if you rename it to .jpg, my TV can show it.
Ok, I understand that realizing interlacing for other non-HD resolutions is more effort, so I'd like to reduce it to just 1 feature request:
- Enable 3D switch on 1920x1080 side-by-side/top-bottom JPGs
This is good enough, as I have to prepare the 3d pictures anyway. Just interleaving IN the jpg is not a good idea.
It would be nice if you could consider this for future FW releases.
Thanks,
