    Philips, LG and Sharp have taken the initiative to investigate the specification of common technical requirements for their Smart TV offerings (i.e. Philips Smart TV, LG Smart TV and Sharp Aquos Net+), based upon open standards such as HTML5, CE-HTML and HbbTV.

    Or its like saying I bought the PS3 first version and now I want it to be the slim one.......some things are sometimes just not possible

    No because a ps3 slim is same has phat ps3 just look is different. Something like smart tv is a simple firmware update

    All connecting devices will benefit from the new Smart release.
    TV's will indeed show the new Smart TV portal, a complete new look with good changes and improvements. (See here)
    Blu-ray players will also get a new Smart look.
