No, you don't. You only need e.g. movie.mkv, movie.idx, movie.sub. Now if your subs look like the ones hellnano, member of this forum, has posted (see his attachment 606, earlier in this thread), then you try the trick with bdsup2sub I mentioned.

i did all these,merged mkv file with idx (sub could not be recognised-empty track),left in the movie folder sub file but no subtitles in the movie.please vargen could you share what did exactly?
