Just had a look at it and I'm quite impressed. The menu is very basic and simple, I like such interfaces. Just watched landscapes from the HD channel and the quality is really impressive, very good picture quality!
YouTube should look at them, that's the way it should look like and HD is working also!
I just missed some HD Philips films with latest product showcases and reports from IFA and so on...
When going through search results with down button, the highlighted item can't be seen anymore, if the found list is longer as the screen. Small bug...

Hi,
I've tried this new app and I like it very much!
The GUI is well designed for 9705 TVs.
Philips, great job!

I'm sad they didn't release it for 2009 models.

I hope they will later support these older models also.

Whats the matter with 2009 devices? Is it dependent on special hardware versions?
If I access with my 8404 via direct NetTV-URL input (found elsewhere) it seems to work to play videos! At least the featured videos and categories do play.
But sometime after something went wrong in loading or navigating videos did play only sound and icons did not refresh - only after switching off and on the tv the videos did play. May be a problem in sync stop streaming contend? Similar things occassionally did happen on official supported Apps too on my device...
Hope there will be a 2009devices supporting VIMEO version soon since I like the platform content just seen.

Just go to HBBIG.COM with your open internet browser.
There Vimeo is listed. It works on 2009 TV’s.
If you simply allow automatically playback of the videos, that works fine. If you start using the selection options during video playback than it crashes.

VIMEO is not working anymore on my nettv.
I registered my user account from vimeo on the vimeo nettv app and now vimeo wont start. Its like it hangs in the main menu of vimeo.
Why?
I was enjoying the vimeo app very much...
Does Philips or anyone on the forum have a solution for this problem?

Hold on. I have a longer version of the error and a solution

When i startup vimeo i have to wait for the loading time out error and then i click ok.
Then it looks like vimeo is working i can browse for videos but i cant play them.
E.g. i select a video and press the big play button but no go. Video doesnt start.
After further investigation in the settings of the app. There you have the option "on startup play videos from" well at first this option was set to "last watched" i changed the setting to "the vimeo hd channel" and problem solved. Now i can play all videos...
Small bug i guess... But still it stops the whole vimeo experience

Vimeo works pretty good.
I'm satisfied with it in my 2010 TV model.

Using keyboard for research in Vimeo App
Hi,
I'am using Smart TV with a HTPC Keyboard touchpad (http://computertouchtech.blogspot.co...ss-3-in-1.html). For me, it's better than remote control, easier to navigate on smart TV but there is one function which do not exist on vimeo App. I can't use the keyboard for research. The only way to write something is to select letters from the "virtual keyboard". My keyboard don't work because i can't get cursor in the the Vimeo search bar (like address bar in browser) to type words but I can use the arrow keys to select letters.
There is the same problem for Youtube App.
How i can contact Vimeo (and youtube) Developper to refer this bug or is that the moderator Philips (Mark) can do it for me?
thank you for trying to find a solution.
Bye :-)Last edited by T ChaY; 02-18-2012 at 01:10 PM.

Maybe they have improved their service and want to go also live for 2009 TVs?
I don't think traffic saving is a reason...
