Bdp3200
Hi I purchased the bdp3200. I have installed the latest update via usb. There is a couple problems. I tried Avatar last night (the first full blu ray I have tried) and it had 7 sound dropouts and the disk started to become very noisy in the drive and I had to stop and start, also I noticed the sound get very slightly out of sync. Will any other blu ray discs do this and do I need to get another model?
Also when playing vcds they play at a too fast frame rate. They play fine on my dvd player.
Apart from the above its a nice player but need to sort the above problems,
Thanks if anybody knows a solution

Hi,
Did you try already with other blu ray movies? Also maybe try again Avatar to see if it happens on the some points of the movie or different ones.

Thanks for the reply.
I have Apocalypse Now blu ray to try now. I have watched some with no problems at all but I havent tried the whole movie yet.
I think the Avatar disc (rental copy)was either dodgy or the player just has some trouble with that movie (as ive now read some players do), at least it played the movie right through albeit with the problems mentioned.
As for the strange vcd playback it might make a difference if I connected it through the composite connection rather than HDMI?

Upon watching further am having the same issues with the Apocalypse Now blu ray disc as with Avatar. Sounds drops out at multiple stages during playback and goes slightly out of sync.
Do I have a faulty player? or is it somthing to do with the firmware? Its just connected and the sound run through my tvs speakers.Last edited by airefc; 09-22-2011 at 06:21 PM.

Hi,
I suggest that you go to you dealer and ask for a replacement...
Did you try already a different HDMI cable?

I have only tried the one hdmi cable that I purchased with the player.
I would prefer to stick with this player but if I was to exchange for the same one there is a chance it could have the same problem?
Thanks

Hi,
first I suggest to test a different cable... Can you also test your player on a different TV (from a friend?)?

I tested Apocalypse Now Redux blu ray on a Hitachi lcd tv 1080i at it didnt seem to have any of the problems mentioned.
So it could be the Sony tv firmware problem?

Only Sony can tell you that

If the BDP works good on different set(s) then the BDP is ok as far as I can see.
Still I would also try a different HDMI cable to see what the story is.
