poor signal quality on some channels

I'm having problems watching some channels on my 32PFL5405H/12. They have poor signal quality, there are lines everywhere. They are unwatchable. This happens only on channels that use QAM 256 modulation. Before I bought this TV, I used a Cisco set top box. Everything was working great. I hope Philips can fix this. I am using firmware version 0.140.39.0

    Hello

I get the TV signal via integrated DVB-C receiver. The provider is Telemach. The channels affected are:

POP BRIO, POP KINO, POP KINO2, POP FANI, POP OTO, POP SPOT, CINESTAR, CINESTAR ACTION AND TRILLER, CRIME AND INVESTIGATION, GINX TV, RUSSIA TODAY, FRANCE 24, SIP.

Today, even though the signal quality is low, these channels are actually working well, but usually they do not.

The STB is still being used. I have it in my room. I have never had any problems with it. Even when the STB was in the living room, where Philips TV is now, there were no problems with it. On STB I can only check something called signal level. Philips has signal quality and signal strength.

I checked it on GINX TV which uses QAM 256. The STB says the signal level is 24%. Philips TV says the signal strength is 30-34% and signal quality is 21-30%. Then I checked a channel that is not using QAM 256.

The STB says the signal level is 28%, Philips TV says signal strength is 78% and signal quality is 100%.

    Is Philips TV too sensitive?

what you see is a very poor signal level, independed from the tv or the STB.
The only difference is that the Tuner in the STB is better that in the TV.
which means that the stb can handle this bad signals better than the tv...

so yes, the external receiver is better than the TV but this is no secret, its the same for dvb-s etc.

OK, here is the report. I called Telemach, the lady on the phone was extremely nice, she sent a technician to our house. He changed a few bad cables and everything is working great now. Thank you again a_Tom, you have been very helpful. You were right. It wasn't the TV's fault at all.
