Hi Cassandra, I did the 2.5.6 upgrade using my gogear muse, has died. You charge the battery, press reset for 10 seconds, remove and reinstall the 2.5.4 and nothing. It does not recognize in any way to connect to Gogear pc. RK28USB not appear connected devices. Use windows 7 32-bit. Address and telephone technical service in lima peru?

My son´s SA3MU8 is dead too and he is now very sad.

I tried absolutely all solution from this forum and nothing. I use Win 7-32 and Win XP on my laptop.
Install SB 2.5.4, use the 10 second trick, uninstall again and nothing.
Really amazes me how a company can issue such a software.
Have someone any reflashing repairing tool without use this stupid SongBird?
And mainly pure .bin source for firmware updating like for example Cowon etc.??

Dear Philps!
My problem is just the same as others.
Bought my brand new Muse 16Gb, and used without any problem until the firmware update performed with the downloaded but not updated Songbird.
The player fully dead, can not switch on (it was charged to 70% when it was collapsed), if it is attached to the computer no singns of charging, or anything... Windows detecting the device as RK28USB.
I tried to reset it with a pin as read in this and other relating topics, deleted and fully installed the latest Songbird, but it always seems the same. The repair method in SB is aborted with an error message. I read the relating topics and tried everything without any result.

this will surely help all of us.
google&dowload yourself for "RK28Upgrade V1.27 and Drivers"
1-st hit www.bergfiles.com/i/bf4e1e774fhfi0
follow the instructions given in ebookfirmwareupgrade.jpg, 3 steps that's all.
the RK28.img image file (mentioed in step 1), may already be on your PC in my case I found it here (Windows 7)
C:\program files\philips\Philips Songbird Resources/Firmware/SA2MUS.zip
unzip all, and rk28.img (approx. 70 Mbytes file) appears as the firmware-image you need to flash onto your muse...Last edited by Aad; 10-21-2012 at 05:32 PM.
