Battery Charging

Hi all,
I have just got a Gogear Vibe SA3VB04RN/02 Mp3 player.
Can anyone tell me how long it should take to charge connected to my laptop please?
Also am I able to use a mains charger without causing any damage?

Normally you should fully charge it within 2-4hrs.

Hi,
Many thanks for your reply, It took about 6 hours to fully charge. It had NO power at all not even enough to turn it on, but it was fine after I connected it to my laptop.
All seems to be ok now and loaded lots of music.
As for the charger I contacted Philips support on Twitter and they said:-
"As long as you are using mains charger which is suitable for USB charging then it will be fine, just remember to unplug!"
So I tried my wife's USB phone charger and it works fine.

Check the mah of the device. A usb output is limited to 500mah. If the device need more then the optimum charge will not be possible.

Yeah will only be using it for holiday charging
