PHILIPS - What on EARTH do we need to do in order to have the subtitles feature done and delivered on the next update ?
We demand more visibility on the status of this request in the RnD organization of Philips.
From the users comments in this forum (with regards to the Philips support answers and willingness to listen) I predict LOW NPS score (Net Promoter Score – see Wiki) for Philips, I suggest Philips to address the Top issues ASAP.

The more I read this forum the more I realise that the philips brand is outdated...
It's amazing all the bug there are on our TV (firmware, HDNM, etc). To make my DLNA server worked, I have to hard reset the TV, setup the lan connexion (even if already setup), restart my PC and restart my DLNA server (I would just say that all my DLNA client works well with my server, only the philips TV bug).
Then, to solve the srt external subbtitle, I use tvmobili which encode MKV + SRT. I didn't try with avi files.
Quality is good.

broken DLNA
is this covered under warranty? if my TV (less then 14 days old) is not DLNA compliant as advertised I should be able to return it. Philips, what's your answer?

Then you should return it and buy a Samsung tv as it seems that all Samsung tv's support subtitles via DLNA. Philips (or TP Vision) is too arrogant to actually listen to the needs of its customers. I bet that when Apple will release its first iTV, TPV will be out of the business and the Philips brand name will quickly be forgotten in the TV world.

It should work without any pre processing. Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) works by the principle of universal plug and play. PLUG AND PLAY. Philips succeeded in crippling this function and breaking the whole concept of Plug and Play. I don't understand how Philips ever gets those DLNA compliance certifications.

It's a quite fast method but doesn't work with my PFL6007K/through any media server. Please describe what you did to run movies via DLNA with subtitles. (e.g. aviaddxsubs settings, media server which you used, server settings)
BTW maybe we should run a common lawsuit against Philips for cheating their customers?

Right, I put my avi and srt on a USB and it works by using subtitles option on the remote.

Indeed!
TVMOBiLi has issues even with some .mkv subtitles.
Doesn't load in all movies.
This would work only if Philips would fix this!
And we can see that there's a dead end there!
Thank you Philips!
