hi Dr Soidberg,
so when you docked your iphone with iOS5 to the DCM580, you can see the version upgraded v45?
If that's it, I think you have already done the upgrade.
If that's still a version before v45, then I guess you have to do it again...
Making sure that's the genuine file is important. As it is announced in the forum home page that, Philips is now having a server system issue... It's also mentioned by Cassandra here. I guess to make sure you have the right file, ask Cassandra to send you that directly...

Hi all,
this thread is getting longer and longer and now it's 18 pages. Can I take this chance to compile the problem we have here a bit.
Problem 1: No File error
Suggestion: 1) Get the right file from Andrea or Cassandra to avoid the wrong file issue
2) Format the USB stick you have
3) Do not put any files other than the .MCS file in the USB
4) Try again the upgrade
5) If not ok, please note down the serial number that you have
(maybe it's a patchwise problem)
Problem 2: Upgraded to v.45, but still not work
Suggestion: 1)verify if the firmware is already the v45
2)if it's already v45, try rebooting your iphone/ipod
3)still not ok, advise the serial number of your device
Problem 3: MAC user - formatting problem
Suggestion 1) Ask your friend to format the USB by a Windows PC and drag the FW file in
(without further plugging in to your MAC)
2) or Try the programme Toengel has suggested - FinderCleaner to clean up
the hidden files in your USB device
3) Try the upgrade procedure
4) If not OK, please advise the serial number of your device.
Hope by this we can summarize this a bit...Last edited by kwinnie; 11-08-2011 at 04:37 AM.

Software Uprgade
Hi all,
If you are still having trouble downloading and completing the software upgrade, other users are finding that REFORMATTING your USB stick first is working. Alternatively, you can try another USB key ensuring there are no hidden files left on there.
Please PM me if you need the unzipped software so we can send this to you (as it is currently not working on the website).
Kind regards,
AndreaLast edited by Philips - Andrea; 11-16-2011 at 08:59 AM. Reason: Change of contact info

Hello Andrea,
Problem is fixed.
As suggested, The solution is to format the USB drive. I did it, copied the file on the key and managed to upgrade the dock.
Thanks for ypour help.
Best regards

Hi,
from the main page of the forum:
MAINTENANCE / CHANGES / ANOUNCEMENTS:
09-Nov-'11: Most reported web content problems are solved, except downloaded ZIP files (e.g. SW upgrades) still seems to be corrupted. You will get the message "Cannot open file: it does not appear ...." when unzipping.
Until a final solution will be available, there are two known workarounds (tested on MS Windows):
1. Download the ZIP file with Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome and unzip normally.
2. Download the ZIP file with MS IE -> rename .zip file to .rar -> extract file with WinRar -> rename extracted file again to .zip -> extract with WinZip.
We regret the situation, and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this. The IT-team is working hard to solve it.
Kind regards,
Philips Moderation Team

Hello Toengel,
thanks a lot for helping me out. The workaround with Firefox worked and after taking another USB Stick and formatting this one up to the suggestions from the manual it worked. iPhone 3 GS with iOS 5 plays music, yippieh!
Thanks a lot,
tonyholiday

It's working !
Got it working ! Used windows(sigh) , formatted the USB stick, downloaded the file from Andrea , copied it over to the stick and unplugged it without ejecting the stick on windows. Worked like a charm .
Thanks to Andrea and all concerned.
Much love guys and those from Philips as well. Bet you some other brands would just pretend this problem did not exist.
Ps. Also happy to know Philips and apple are number 5 and 4 respectively on the greenpeace scale of green companies.
