Hi,
try to unplug the tower from the power for 2-3 minutes. Also hard reboot your iPhone... I don't have more ideas.

hi Bent,
Yes, that's why I said the file on the website seems to have corrupted. I just sent you a PM with the SW that others have the successful upgrade before...
Can you try that one?

Hi JohnniG,
I have sent you the file as well. Maybe you can try one last time with that file. I have done some testing today...The corruption of file doesn't matter the stroke version one has. But the country one enters...
When I tried to download that in UK website... it's corrupted and when I tried download in DE website, it's ok...
all along, I can see the web is very unstable now....

i have uploaded that to an online directory... i m not sure if i can post that here with the URL to download it or not...
there are some disclaimer/ agreement message that one has to check "agree" first before downloading in the support site.... that s why i m not if i can just put it here... wud like to hear your advice...
but if someone needs the file... just leave me PM/ post here... I ll send the URL to you shortly (if i m still up... (i'm in asia that s why almost time to bed...))

Hi
to solve some misunderstandings: I downloaded all language versions of the firmware update - both for /12 and /05 version.
All are THE SAME. I checked the checksums of each file - and all have the same checksum.
ZIP (dcm580_xx_fus_xxx.zip) file:
MD5: 84369b26aae47538e26d3821a8b75745
SHA1: 55a12331c6f5e63dd1a1a3a91758c0ec72710e2c
CRC32: 32b2556f
PHILIPS_DCM580_V45_20111026.MCS file:
MD5: bfbff8ca5e6432c54b9f7c7621871542
SHA1: 336e873556c110c6875c04a5b9fe04aa805b1387
CRC32: 490615a5
You can verify your download with e.g. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/hashmyfiles.zip

that will be great if the download issue is fixed!
tried many times today... sometimes a file of half the size, sometimes with an empty zip file...
hope then it's fixed.

Working
OK, these are the steps I had to take:
Download the dcm580_12_fus_eng.zip file from the site.
Extract the file using WinRAR
The extracted file is called dcm580_12_fus_eng (no file extension)
Manually enter file extension .zip on the file using explorer (resulting in a file with the same name and extension as the first file - dcm580_12_fus_eng.zip)
Extract the new file (using Winzip och WinRAR).
The extracted file should have the file extension MCS (in my case the file is called PHILIPS_DCM580_V45_20111026.MCS)
Place the extracted MCS file in the root of the USB drive.
Follow the rest of the instructions.
And to Philips Support: fix this...

Hi,
if you download the file (dcm580_12_fus_eng.zip) and extract it afterwards the result should be: PHILIPS_DCM580_V45_20111026.MCS
No intermediate step. I don't know why you need to extract the file 2 times...
Short:
- Download the file (dcm580_12_fus_eng.zip) and save it e.g. to the desktop (you now have a file on your desktop which is called dcm580_12_fus_eng.zip)
- extract the ZIP file (with winzip or other extractor)
- result is: PHILIPS_DCM580_V45_20111026.MCS
- copy MCS file to root of usb stick
- upgrade DCM

Thanks Toengel
... But I had to extract the file twice. And since some people still seems to have issues, I thought they might give this a chance.

No file
Anyone having other suggestions to solve the NO FILE problem? I have tried everything I can imagine will help without any luck. I'm pretty sure my update file ain't damaged. It has exactly the same details as Alex posted earlier.
PHILIPS_DCM580_V45_20111026.MCS (DCM580/12)
MD5: bfbff8ca5e6432c54b9f7c7621871542
SHA1: 336e873556c110c6875c04a5b9fe04aa805b1387
CRC32: 490615a5
- I have tried a lot of different File Systems and formated my USB-stick several times.
- FAT32 is the only format that seems to be readable (For other files)
- My DCM can read other files from the USB device (At least .MP3)
- I have tried to restart the DCM numerous times and pulled out the cord for several hours.
- Every single thing I've tried, I have repeated numerous times

Haven't waited for Philips' fix for MAC users, I turned to my friend with a window PC for help.
Simply did the USB format using his PC, dragged in the unzipped file, plugged in my DCM for an update! It works like a charm!
If you are a bit impatient like me, I suggest you use another window PC to do the trick first!Last edited by christopher; 11-02-2011 at 05:54 AM.
