Problem 3: MAC user - formatting problem
Suggestion 1) Ask your friend to format the USB by a Windows PC and drag the FW file in
(without further plugging in to your MAC)
2) or Try the programme Toengel has suggested - FinderCleaner to clean up
the hidden files in your USB device
3) Try the upgrade procedure
4) If not OK, please advise the serial number of your device.

Thanks for summarizing kwinnie. I tried the FinderCleaner –*it did not work. I even tried a usb from a windows user friend –*still NO FILE on the DMC580 display. I am giving up, give the device away. Anyone near Zurich who wants it?

The problem Remains The Same with new firmware to the ipod IS detected I Can Make Music with the Play and Stop remote works aim II was still no sound. So my tower IS Useless. if the charge also works. Just the sound does not work but the main.

I call the service center. Apparently he had put all their hopes of solving problems on the corruption of the file that was not online allori that the firmware I had installed two weeks ago was not corrupt. I end up with two identical firmware. Rule which does obviously not my problem! croiyer me who work on a phillips that v46 firmware. I was wrong!

My DCM580 is out of warranty I will not pay for the repair. Allori that the problem was created by Phillips

I appologize, I'm french and my english is not so good.

I had the same problem as everybody, first "no file" when I tried to update the firmware with IE. Then I've downloaded it with Mozilla, and it works. But There is a new problem. When I'm listening music with my iPhone IOS5, sometimes there is some "crackling". I'm not sure that te word is exact, and i've never had this problem before. Please, does somebody can help me ?

J'ai rencontré le même problème que tout le monde, à savoir que je ne pouvais pas installer le nouveau firmware sur mon >DCM580 (message "no file) suite à non fonctionnement avec IOS5. Finalement j'y suis arrivé en suivant les instructions du forum et des intervenants de chez Philips, en telechargeant la version 45 avec Mozilla. En revanche, j'ai un nouveau problème: Lorsque j'écoute de la musique avec mon iPhone sur la tour, il y a des grésillements de temps en temps. C'est assez enervant ... Merci de m'aider si quelqu'un a une solution.
