On a different note, for all our Mac users please be aware we are looking into the software download issue for the DCM580 you are experiencing as a matter of importance. Once I have more information I will let you all know. Again, thank you for your patience.

Tried once more with the unzipped file saved on Windows 7 on a clean stick without any other files on it and the Philips device said READING on the screen but nothing else ever happened (after hours of waiting). This is sooooooooooo frustrating!

Hi,

did you enable to see hidden files? Maybe there are some on your stick - of course if you reformat the stick before, then the stick should be empty...

Hi, the stick is absolutely empty, reformatted in FAT. I read the whole 21 pages of this forum and tried all potentially successful methods and realize, I'd better believed in astrology!

I have downloaded the update 45 today and followed your instructions. The IPhone have ful contact to the DCM 580 but the functionality and sound is not working fully. The sound is only in the middle register . And very empty. It is also very low.
What can be wrong?

Bjorn- I had the same trouble the other day after updating to iOS5, reason being that my sound settings reverted back to factory settings.

So, maybe check your music settings- make sure that the EQ and volume limit is set to your preferences??

I have the same problem, after updating to IOS 5.01 is does not work anymore! So i think the firmware needs an update again, please Philips update it soon so we an use the speaker again!

I have several user in the region that experience the same problem with IOS 5.01. Please PHILIPS we urge you to do a new update.

I installed and can confirm its done, but it still wont play anything from my phone. Its not compatible....
