After updating to v45 I can use my iPod with v5.01. What happens though is that sometimes the music stops, as if volume is down to zero (even if it is not). This happens even when listening to the radio with no iPod docked. After power it off and on it starts playing again.

Is this the same problem as you other people are experiencing?

Eventually I've got a stick from Philips –*problem is solved, thanks everyone who helped!

If the volume problem appears, I will come back here – hopefully not.

I downloaded the MCS file (unzipped from the ZIP gile) and put it on the root of a freshly formatted USB, but "No File" identified by the DCM580/12

How should I do ?

Do you have specific instructions for MAC users ?

Sorry to hear about the problems you are having with iOS 5.01 and the volume.

I would like to take some further info about this please, such as how are you listening to music is it via the Philips Fidelio app for example?

You say you notice the difference when you are listening to the radio also? Is it a particular station?

I have an iPod so I typically use the built-in apple music player and the spotify application.
Regarding the radio it happened one or two times with the local radios here in Sweden.

Remark: If a future upgrade of ios 5.01 is published, how will I know if it is 'save' to upgrade my iPod touch?

Unfortunately, there is no way we can guarantee that Apple's upgraded software will be fully compatible. However, we do aim to ensure compatibility where possible and if you are concerned about the effect of future Apple updates then I would suggest checking our forum or Apple's to see if other users have reported anything.

Will iPods with IOs 3 and 4 still work?

Hi Fabian,

There should not be any issues as the update will not affect any existing functionality, v45 firmware was designed to rectify issues reported by users with iOS5 software on their Apple device.

So, if your Apple devices are not running iOS 5 then it is not necessary to update the firmware as there were no further improvements.

I will PM you the unzipped software, in case you are using iOS5!
