    Unhappy Very, very disappointed about Greek EPG...

    Hi Philips,

    I spent a few hours today in a store checking the new models. I was glad to see that the 2011 models do finally support EPG in Greece (I tested DVB-T EPG, the TVs didn't have network to check if IP-EPG works).

    So, the 2011 models do have EPG. But why our 2010 models do not?

    I want to note 3 things to Philips:

    a) In the product specs, it is said that EPG Guide works in "selected countries". But there is nowhere a list of "these selected" countries, either on the site, the manuals, or the product box. You first buy the product, and then you discover it does not work. Despite that the relevant options exist in the menus.

    b) Philips Hellas position has been that a firmware that will fix EPG is pending for 2009 & 2010 models. Where is this firmware?

    c) There is no hardware limitation in receiving or showing EPG data. I have photos that prove that: setting another country and manually setting the clock, works for a while, until synchronisation is lost after a couple of hours:

    Why are the changes for 2011 not back-ported to 2010 models?
    Is EPG kept as a "new feature" for 2011 models?

    I am waiting for an answer on this...

    I have contacted Philips' help desk yesterday, and reported once again the EPG
    problem. After a few hours, they called me and directed me to the service (!).

    I called the service yesterday and today (its hard to locate the qualified
    personnel, especially since they are the service for a ton of brands), I
    talked to a person about the EPG problem.

    He didn't know anything about the problem, they are going to look at it and
    call me back. It was the first time he had heard the TV model (46PFL9705H/12).
    I bet he has never seen the TV as a real product.

    His first reaction was that it is impossible to have only the now-next
    information when I select EPG Guide from the remote, and not the EPG Guide.
    My TV must be faulty...

    I am anxious what the response will be...

    The first reaction of the service was that they are not aware about a problem with EPG, and there is nothing about it in their knowledge database.

    They will call me again on Monday...

    And the final answer from the service company, is that they cannot help me...
