what kind of error you see? can you capture the screenshot of the error message?
is it something like "crash report"?
i experience this some days before and then i figured out that i m using a songbird that's not tailor made for my player. (so, you know quite many of the gogear products are using songbird. but sometimes you just cant use the songbird of the other player to upgrade your device). So in my case, I just remove and uninstall the old songbird completely and download a new one in the product support page. and then the crash report thing is gone...
maybe you should try?

Hi Strider1978,
It is always recommended to use the version of Songbird that was created for your player.
I would suggest remove the current version of songbird that you are using and download the correct version from support page here
Once installed try updating the firmware again this has found to resolve this issue.
Hope this helps!
Kind Regards,
Cassandra

Looks like songbird wrongfully detects player as sa2vbe04r , however it is sa2vbe04k. By following direct link http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/s/sa2vbe04k_02/ I figured that 1.51 is latest firmware.

to my understanding...the difference for sa2vbe04r & sa2vbe04k is just the colour difference...
so i guess they may share the same FW.
Since there are server prob (as stated in the forum home page), i suggest you to try it later when the system has been stabilized

Why then versions of firmware doesn't match? Not initial, nor latest? Sure, there is something wrong with songbird. I cannot even restore player after changing flash chip.
