BDP5100 Firmware 1.57 USB Problem
I bought this BD Player (BDP 5100/12) with the firmware version 1.18. With this firmware, the new STAR WARS Collection in Blu Ray was slowly.
Then I update the firmware to the version 1.57 with a pendrive, and the STAR WARS movies go very well this time.
But when I try my USB sticks in the frontal USB, the BD player freezes and the remote don´t respond.
I then proceeded to download, burn to DVD the firmware version 1.31 and downgrade the BD player. Now all is OK ,
the movies in BD are good, and the USB sticks work very well.
Can you create a firmware with version 1.31 functionality but with the new improvements of version 1.57?
Thank You.

before you downgrade it, have you try to disconnect it and try again wit your USB stick?
Or if you try another USB stick ?
let me test it...come back to you later

Yes, i tried three different sticks, but only when i remove the stick, the BD player and the remote works again.
Only with version 1.31 i see the structure of the sticks.

Now, with version 1.31, SW:Attack of the clones in blu ray have micro cuts on video and sound.
Please Philips, program a new firmware with all corrections!!!

Hi sithantonio,
We have tested the Star Wars Collection with version V1.57 installed. The playback was ok
and we did not see any issues.
Regarding the problem with the USB that makes the device freeze the File formats are:FAT16 or FAT32 (note: NTFS is not supported). What is the memory capacity of the USB´s?
Also it would be good to upgrade the set to V1.57 again.
Thanks and kind regardsForum Mod

Finally I got the solution
Thanks for answering. The size of USB sticks are 8 GB, 1 GB and 32 GB, all formatted with FAT32.
I tried to update back to version 1.57, but this time with a DVD-RW....and ALL THE STICKS ARE WORKING NOW!!!!
Then, The steps that i have followed are:
1. Update from 1.18 to 1.57 with a USB stick
2.With version 1.57, the USB stick doesn´t work now.
3.Downgrade from 1.57 to 1.31 with a DVD-RW.
4. USB is ok, but STAR WARS movies goes slow.
5. Finally, update from 1.31 to 1.57 with a DVD-RW.
All is ok now, at the moment.

My HDD is 1500 GB (1.5 TB) WD Elements and NTFS formated and it works fine.
Firmware 1.57.
But my BDP5100 began to heat up significantly after installation, V1.57 and freezes, nothing have been made not only to unplug the power cord.
