USB HDD - Using one partition to record and one for own files

    Hello together,

for my new 37PFL7606K/02 i bought a 1 TB USB HDD. Because I have already some video files I could watch on TV, I parted the HDD in two 500 GB parts and put these files on the second partition. Now I connected the HDD to the TV and wanted to use the first partition to use the USB-recording. But the TV formatted the whole drive. Why doesn`t my idea work, what's wrong? Do I really need two drives?
    Thank you for your help,

    Bye, thomas

    Hi

    We do not support Partitions.
So yes, you need to Drives for Video Playback and USB Recording.

    Regards

    function planed for future releases?

    Hi,

i've got the 47PFL7606 and tried to use two partitions as well.
due to the fact that the first usb-port is used by the wifi-adapter, there is only one usb-port left for the hard-disc.

i'am looking forward to use both (playback of mutimedia-files and usb-recording). is it planed to release a update with allowes to use a partitioned drive in the future?

Without this feature I CANNOT RECOMMEND the Philips products :-(

    Regards,
    Simon

    Hi,

I've just another question concerning the partitioned drives: WHY won't Philips support partitioned drives? Is it that difficult? Do more expensive products support it? It's a pity that the user has to buy two drives to use the recording feature and show own films an photos. On the one it's side crazy to arrange the drives in a pile in your tv-rack, on the other side it's cheaper to buy ONE big drive than to buy one small (for the recording, a big one is not very useful) and one big for the own media library. Last but not least in these times every company (Philips also!) sells products that are "energy efficient". But where's the efficiency when you need to run more products to use one properly and with it's whole skills?

    Best regards,
    thomas81
