Thats the funny story. According to Philips customer service the 40pfl9606 would be released mid October, they are already in stock at 3d party warehouses of Philips.

Now suddenly Philips decided to no release the 40pfl9606 . No body knows why, i asked Philips several times! This is not smart to not release your 40 inch topmodel people will buy a 40 inch of the competitor. For me 32 and 37 are to small and 46 and 52 inch to large. The 40 inch is the perfect size for me.

And yes the 40, 46 and 52 inch have local dimming.

Hi,

as far as I know, the 40 inch was posponed 2 times and should be made available later this year - but not many will be sold...
