FullSound turns off on song change on SA3VBE08BN
Hello,
Yesterday I bought a SA3VBE08BN and I notice an annoying problem. When FullSound is turned on and the song changes (automatically after the end, or manually) it turns itself off and I need to go to the menu and turn it on again. At the beginning of the new song a little fadeout is heard, indicating that it indeed turns off. This happens on mp3 files, but not on flac or wav. Firmware is latest - 2.05.
Please respond how to fix.

lemme clarify: when FullSound is on, the song turn off the Fullsound feature upon the end of play?
or when FullSound is on, the song stopped upon the end of play and wudn't move forward to the next song unless you go to manual to select another one?

I meant that the FullSound feature turned off when the song was changed. After reset and format it magically fixed itself and is OK now.
However, i see another problem now: the battery won't charge fully. The icon on the player shows half charged and Songbird shows 44% and does not go up after more charging. I charged it for maybe 2 and a half hours, maybe I should leave it connected for more time, although I doubt that it will make any difference?
Update: The original problem actually didn't fix, but I figured out what is wrong. FullSound turns off on variable bitrate mp3s and back on on constant bitrate mp3s. I hope they fix it in a new firmware versionLast edited by laserxp; 10-26-2011 at 03:25 PM.

Great work in solving this problem
Hi Laserxp & kwinnie,
I would be happy to pass this information onto our development team for you as this may be something that can help others who may be experiencing this same issue.FullSound turns off on variable bitrate mp3s and back on on constant bitrate mp3s. I hope they fix it in a new firmware version
Please send through details about the files you were playing and any pictures/screenshots if you have these as this will be useful for our dev team!
Kind regards,
Cassandra

Hello, Cassandra,
Just give the developers this info and they will sure know what it means.
Model: SA3VBE08BN
Firmware: 2.05
Ploblem 1:
FullSound is turned on from the menu.
-Playing a constant bitrate mp3: everything OK
-Playing a variable bitrate mp3: Fullsound turns off with a little fadeout in the beginning of the track. While playing such a file, if I go to the menu and choose FullSound, it is set to 'on', but actually turns on when I enter the menu item
-Playing constant bitrate mp3 again: Fullsound turns itself back on.
Problem 2:
-Battery does not seem to charge fully. I connect it to the PC with the 'charge and play' setting. The icon shows the battery charging but it either doesn't charge or charges veeeeery slowly.
-When disconnecting from PC and then playing music, quickly after some minutes the battery icon shows empty, but it is not actually depleted and can play for some more hours.
-I still haven't tested this problem thoroughly

Thanks laserxp!
I'll send the info through to them so that they are aware of the problems you are experiencing and I'll update you with any feedback I receive from them.
Other than this problem I hope you are enjoying your player and using our sound forum!
Kind regards,
Cassandra

Update:
Okay, it seems that the battery of my player was messed up, I went to the store and they replaced it. So, problem 2 is now solved. However, problem 1 still exist on the new player. It's surely a software problem. The firmware of the new player is 2.06. The old one had 2.05 but Songbird showed no updates were available...

hi again.
i would like to test that out today. yet i have problem updating to the latest version firmware...
as i can see from the songbird, the latest firmware i have after connected is 2.04
can you further check if you are using 2.04 or 2.05?
since to my knowledge, the firmware version is usually in even number...

In Songbird it shows 2.05, on the player itself it shows 2.06. I don't think it makes a big difference, the problem probably exists on older versions also.

but i just have 2.04 on my device... and it seems I already hv the latest version (the Songbird doesn't detect further...)
I am not sure if it is because we have so many versions for SA3VBE... mine is SA3VBE04PN/02

I see there is new firmware version available. I thought "Oh, they may have fixed it!" BUT the firmware doesn't install...
The details are in the pictures below. Tried resetting, formatting, repairing... still nothing.
I'm so pissed off. It seems that few things work correctly with philips.
Anyway, give suggestions if you have any.

Somehow managed to repair the device with internet connection disconnected. It reverted to firmware version 1.00 and now can't install the new one.
What a ridiculous piece of crap!
