Hi DieWillem and anzi.
Mine BDP7600/12 also has regularly freezes when turning off and also finds it necessary to format the inserted memory card again without any clear reason. So maybe our problems are not so unique.
Model: BDP-7600/12
Firmware Ver: 1.55

I also have this very same issue - I do not use the player often (couple of times a month) and this means that almost every time I want to use it, I have to unplug and restart, as the unit is completely unresponsive to both the remote control and the front-panel.
I can't believe that this issue has not been resolved by firmware update - feels as though this unit is no longer being supported.

Blu-ray player:
Model: BDP-7600/12
Firmware Ver: 1.55
TV:
Model: Philips DesignLine Edge Téléviseur LED Smart TV 42PDL7906H
Firmware Ver: 000.014.104.000
Both of them were reseted to factory settings.
BDP does not respond to front-panel but responds to remote control. As many others, it remains stuck on Standby...
BUT
the playback of a DVD or a Blu-ray is regularly paused, then starts again (slow motion) and normal speed, then a few moments later the same pattern occurs again.
The deactivation of easylink did not change anything.
I unplugged it and connected it to another tv set (Samsung) and it functioned almost properly (showing some lag in the blu-ray disc playback from time to time).
When I connected the BDP to the Philips TV set again, there was no disc in the BDP and it started some weird sequence of standby-open-close-play. I tried to switch it off and it reactivated himself and did the same sequence again.
The front panel does not respond, so I came back to my first problem.

Dear users,
For the hang up issues we are working on a solution to solve this. No dates can be given for the new FW release though.
Kind regards,Forum Mod

Hi, just running Blue Ray disk on my new Philips BluRay reader.
Now I just encounterd a problem with the Trilogy of Madagascar.
The disk number 1 & 2 are problem freee. Teh disck number 3 ( Madascar 3 ) goes in hangup sistuation.
When we select paly the movie the player hold it self.
The other content of the disc are running well, not the movie.
We can fast and rewind but when we press paly the palyer goes in a kind of pause.
It is possibile to use remote controll and using home key for other palyer function.
The BDP was updated to the latest versione, 1.55. I did t via internet and using the usb update. ( almoust the same file )
Any idea about this problem ?
Regards
Franco

Blu-ray player:
Model: BDP-7600/12
Firmware Ver: 1.55
Player does not remember the settings i have set for volume.
Specifically i have set the subwoofer setting at -2db.
When i close and reopen the player the volume level is reset to 0.
In the settings it appears that the slider is where i set it but i have to to move it back and forth for the setting to be really enabled.
I can not check if this problem persists also for other settings like speaker distance.
Please check it and let me know.

Ok - have been lurking around here for quite some time and I'm wondering if there's any news on the new firmware. My main problem is the complete freezing of the machine whilst on standby which is extremely annoying (and I can imagine not too healthy for the 7600). Please Philips - solve this as soon as possible!

Sorry for kicking this tread, but has there been any update since 1.55. I must say that the player still keeps hanging when turning it to standby and that the machine feels the need to reformat the sd-card at random...
