    Hi DieWillem and anzi.

Mine BDP7600/12 also has regularly freezes when turning off and also finds it necessary to format the inserted memory card again without any clear reason. So maybe our problems are not so unique.

    Model: BDP-7600/12
    Firmware Ver: 1.55

    Regards,
    Robert

I also have this very same issue - I do not use the player often (couple of times a month) and this means that almost every time I want to use it, I have to unplug and restart, as the unit is completely unresponsive to both the remote control and the front-panel.

I can't believe that this issue has not been resolved by firmware update - feels as though this unit is no longer being supported.

    Blu-ray player:
    Model: BDP-7600/12
    Firmware Ver: 1.55

    TV:
Model: Philips DesignLine Edge Téléviseur LED Smart TV 42PDL7906H
    Firmware Ver: 000.014.104.000

Both of them were reseted to factory settings.

BDP does not respond to front-panel but responds to remote control. As many others, it remains stuck on Standby...
    BUT
the playback of a DVD or a Blu-ray is regularly paused, then starts again (slow motion) and normal speed, then a few moments later the same pattern occurs again.
The deactivation of easylink did not change anything.

I unplugged it and connected it to another tv set (Samsung) and it functioned almost properly (showing some lag in the blu-ray disc playback from time to time).

When I connected the BDP to the Philips TV set again, there was no disc in the BDP and it started some weird sequence of standby-open-close-play. I tried to switch it off and it reactivated himself and did the same sequence again.
The front panel does not respond, so I came back to my first problem.

    Dear users,

For the hang up issues we are working on a solution to solve this. No dates can be given for the new FW release though.

    Kind regards,

Hi, just running Blue Ray disk on my new Philips BluRay reader.

Now I just encounterd a problem with the Trilogy of Madagascar.

The disk number 1 & 2 are problem freee. Teh disck number 3 ( Madascar 3 ) goes in hangup sistuation.

When we select paly the movie the player hold it self.
The other content of the disc are running well, not the movie.

We can fast and rewind but when we press paly the palyer goes in a kind of pause.

It is possibile to use remote controll and using home key for other palyer function.

The BDP was updated to the latest versione, 1.55. I did t via internet and using the usb update. ( almoust the same file )

Any idea about this problem ?

    Regards

    Franco

    Blu-ray player:
    Model: BDP-7600/12
    Firmware Ver: 1.55

Player does not remember the settings i have set for volume.

Specifically i have set the subwoofer setting at -2db.
When i close and reopen the player the volume level is reset to 0.
In the settings it appears that the slider is where i set it but i have to to move it back and forth for the setting to be really enabled.

I can not check if this problem persists also for other settings like speaker distance.

Please check it and let me know.

Ok - have been lurking around here for quite some time and I'm wondering if there's any news on the new firmware. My main problem is the complete freezing of the machine whilst on standby which is extremely annoying (and I can imagine not too healthy for the 7600). Please Philips - solve this as soon as possible!

Angry can't upgrade firmware for bdp7600/93

I have exactly the same issue.
And it's still not working now.
    Does Philips working on this???

    1. Both USB and Internet firmware upgrade do not work.
Network setup and internet connection have no issue. But when select Upgrade from Network, it immediately returns the msg w/o any searching delay: "No valid files are found".
Download the latest version 1.35 from Philips support site, unzip to the root dir of USB flash disk with unchanged folder name (UPG_ALL), then plug in USB storage - try both 1Gb and 8Gb accordingly, make sure no BD disc inside, select Upgrade from USB, it starts to search however after a few seconds it comes back the err msg: "The version is not verified. Please insert the correct file."
    2. BDP7600 remote control interferes w/ my home set-top box by 70% functions in which numeric buttons are exactly matched. However the set-top box remote control does not impact BDP7600 instead. then I have to POWER OFF the set-top box when using BDP7600. Really a frustrated design on this.
    3. On current version 1.09, I can't see "Internet Browser" or Net TV item in the main menu, I have no idea how to visit internet thru BDP7600. But AD says it supports USB keyboard for internet surfing.
    4. DLNA playback is really limit to WMP, network is frequently broken during the connection even w/ wired cable. That is to say DLNA in this version is not stable comparing to other brand 3D Blu-ray players like Sony S780.

Except the above bugs, the good things are Divx format support and A-B repeat function - that's why I bought it as my legacy S780 does not have those features.

Sorry for kicking this tread, but has there been any update since 1.55. I must say that the player still keeps hanging when turning it to standby and that the machine feels the need to reformat the sd-card at random...

I think Philips will never solve the problem that the player still keeps hanging (freezes) when turning it to standby and that the machine feels the need to reformat the sd-card after a hanging and that unplugging from main power is the only way to get the machine back in working order.

In Dutch we have a saying for this:
Veel beloven en weinig geven doet een gek in vreugde leven.

    Free translation into English:
    Promise a lot
    Don’t give a lot
    Makes a fool happy.

No, Philips is obviously not working on this.

Bought BDP7600/93 with SW1.32 for 2,000 RMB and have to live with a piece of electronic junk since then. Rarely switched off, freezes, have to crawl below TV bench to pull the plug almost each time I am using it. Makes me fell like bowing down in front of Philips each time theit unsupported device fails.

Firmware upgrade not working as described above (neither via Internet nor via USB). Software upgrades and solutions have been provided regularly for other regions but only China remains with 1.35 - and no solution to even upgrade to that and letting us stuck with 1.32.

Looks like Philips regards China as not important . I regularly tried everything to fix this junk and now I am really fed up with this "brand". No way to change, no described way seems to apply on the Chinese product and support dead. That Philips does not support its products in China is quite a statement and deserves to be punished by the consumer...
