+1 to this feature.
Also to VobSub subtitles or different character encodings for subtitles.

Are there any progress about this feature? It's a very important feature for a media player. I hope it'll come shortly!
Thanks

Vote +1. Must have feature especialy that there is no DTS support and many mkv movies have DTS track as first audio track.

Which brand/model has better mkv features? Has this anything to do with Twonky's functionality? Would PLEX (support for LG) do a better job?

As PS3 Media Server supports transcoding, it might also support remuxing with a single audio-track and by this removing all unwanted audio tracks.
This would allow you to select the audio by selecting the corresponding DLNA entry before you start playing, in the DLNA menu.
I'm not sure though if this works (have never tried ps3ms) - can you give it a try and tell us here?

I just bought the 42PFL4307K and I really miss these features!
Please add audio line and subtitle!
If possible also DTS support for S/PDIF.
