That's really a bad thing with selection of audio and other basic stuff.
Not even to point the starting point of the video you can select with time (at least on my 52PFL8605D).
If the TV freeze, very nice to see the whole video again over DLNA, usb at least has forwarding but not to set start poin as mentioned.
I have a 32'' BGH low cost tv which read almost everything (a part from the well know compression error which almost every
seller had at the beginning) and has all the nice features.
In fact I don't know because Philips does not implement so basic features!!
DTS support, ok could be a price tackle but with the price of this TV no comment...
But all the rest, please, has nothing to do with prices nor with other problems.
Guys do you need a linux "developer" which compiles all the nice libraries for you?
You don't have to reinvent the wheel, did you know that?
My 2 cents about this thread ...

DVB-S(et al) use MPEG4-TS and a preferred audio language can be set and lang switching is supported during 'playback'. MKV is just a different container, preliminary MKV-container support is in place, rest can be adopted easily one to one from DVB-X. Should be trivial for an experienced dev team.

Dear Philips representatives.
It's been almost a year and a half since the first post on the subject.
Obviously, many of us customers want to choose one of multiple possible sound channels on an mkv file.
Why is this taking so much time ? Are you planning to release a software update to support this feature ?
My 47psl4007h feels like a poor investment.
Please answer. Give us something...

Twonky is free. Register your TV with Philips and you will get a SN. Search the form. There is a topic about this.
I second on the language setting. I had an LG before the 6007 who was decoding dts, could stream mkv with subtitles over dlna, but I did not like the picture. Else, compared to any Philips that was a rocket ship.

we need both the options to choose audio track and also to be able to choose subtitle when you actually add support for subtitles using DLNA which is VERY important!
Adding DTS support was be awesome as well but I am guessing that's to expensive
But at least give us subtitles under DLNA!Last edited by SoWErA; 12-13-2012 at 08:23 AM.

just bought my 6007, great picture quality but at the first dlna fire up it just crashed so i made an software update. it works now put but the missing multi audio and dts support is just ridiculous. subs are working properly.
i thought it was part of the dlna codec, just like fast forward and reverse which also doesn't work
+1k for this topic
ps.: also chatted with the support, she said she forwards my beggings to the software-devs, you should also do this
i am using serviio on my nas, but it has no transcoding options for audio-tracks
i'm glad i paid 500€ off list for that useless piece of network-crap
seems like i have to buy a raspberry pi and istall xbmc or open-elec for proper network streaming
god dammit even lg got that :/Last edited by thomask; 12-28-2012 at 06:25 PM. Reason: supplement

I recently bought my Philips TV set and felt really disappointed when I realized that I could not change the audio channel of mkv video files, and sometimes I got a "Not supported audio format" error message and there was no sound at all, (I assume because the default audio channel was in DTS format).
But, as I read the present topic, I must say that the most disappointing thing is that, after more than 1 year from the first post, Philips seem to have no intention to solve these issues that are absolutely necessary and implemented by other (even cheaper) devices.
It's a pitty.
