Hi, I'm a new member of the forum (just registered now).
I have bough 2 BDP 3000 (I have a city and beach houses) and I have lots of disks that both players dont read. The last one I have issues with, is the special edition of BEN-HUR. The disk with first part of the movie plays nicely, but the disc with the second part of of the movie and the disc with the documentaries simpli dont load.
Discs with the movies SKY CAPTAIN, DAY OF THE DEAD, SLEEPY HOLLOW, TEARS OF THE SUN, and many others, simply dont play at all. However they all play withou problems in my PS3.
Later I can give a complete list of discs with EAN codes, if necessary.
Thanks for commentaries.

Hi,
please update your BDP to the latest firmware (via USB, remove any discs before), post the firmware and the EAN codes (after testing again, if an update was available).

Hi Toengel,
I have the latest firmware release (v.1142.1, I think). It doesn't resolve the problem.
Later I will make an exaustive list of all the titles with EAN codes, and will post it.
I also experience the problem I saw already posted somewhere, with Alien movie. It starts with Image zoomed to the max in just one corner of the screen. It can olny be resolved returning to the main screen, an then selecting the movie again.

This is ridiculous Philips. Reported issues with Harry Potter, Aliens,Star Wars , Walking Dead ..etc, since 3-4 month with 3 different model of my Philips player and nothing has happen. (e.g BDP3000). To be able to see the movies i have to buy a player from another manufacturer (Panasonic) and all of the movies is working like charm. Im really disappointed how this is handle. Im forced to change my daughters models of philipsplayers as well, since no upgrade is available after month of waiting.

For those of you who can't update the firmware using a USB-stick try altering the filename "UPG_ALL" to "UPG" it worked for me.
However Game of Thrones still doesn't work even after updating to the latest firmware. Screen just goes black after trying to load it and after 10 or so seconds it skips back to the bdp3000 menu. Hope a resolution is available or on it's way.

Game of thrones won't play
Same problem as previous posters.
Game of Thrones- The Complete First Season EAN - 5000136942
won't play on my BDP3000/05 with latest firmware- 1142.1
Most of the time it goes back to the "Play disc" menu, at other times it hangs and requires the power to be switched off although the player responds to a couple of buttons on the remote- HDMI changes HDMI output, but other buttons (such as "Top Menu" flash up the crossed out circle icon and nothing else). Very occasionally the disc plays!!
Think it's about time you got your act together with a firmware upgrade.

German "Die Schlümpfe", "Alien" and "Aliens" won't play correctly
Got a severe problem with the German version of "The Smurfs" = "Die Schlümpfe", EAN 4030521721890. The intro and main menu work fine but starting the main movie freezes the player after about 1 second. Tried several times without luck.
Also the BluRays for Alien and Aliens (EAN 4010232055941 and 4010232055934) make the picture stay black after inserting them with the player not reacting to any button presses. After about 5-10 minutes, the player goes into screen saver mode and shuts down. If I turn it back on (from standby), the movie seems to work.
This is on a BDP3000/12 with latest firmware 1142.1.Last edited by mbirth; 04-10-2012 at 08:21 AM.

Hi Remko,
any PMs for 3200/12 owners? Still trouble with lots of Blue Rays as you can see in several threads.

@tinman
Why don't you upgrade the player to SW2.22 like the other BDP3200/12 you have, or did you make a typo?
