After 2 years of use i found out that my BD8000/12 does not play my new Harry Potter - Philosopher's Stone Ultimate Edition, it freezes at two places, for 5 seconds, skipping some lines, and then it continues again.
I have model BD8000/12
Harry Potter Ultimate Wizard's Collection, disc 1 Philosopher's Stone...this is a 31 discs box set.
My BD8000/12 had version 1.53, and there is my other problem, my player said there were no updates, now i browsed this site and found version 1.63, i have updated my player but still the disc freezes.Last edited by madmega; 10-04-2012 at 07:07 PM.

Same issue with Game of Thrones Blu-Ray. When inserting one of the blu-ray's, the screen goes black and nothing happens. Before my upgrade, the player froze completely and I had to reset the power of the device to eject the disc. After the upgrade, I still see or hear nothing, but I can already eject the disc without the device crashing now.
Device: BDP7300/12
Software: 1026.1
Driver: BC3300 85753300
Title: Game of Thrones

Hi,
I have a BDP5180/5 Blu Ray player, it comes up with the message "unknown disc " when trying to play the following:
Prometheus ASIN: B005ZCHQKA
Sons of Anarchy Season 4 ASIN: B005ZC9SBU
No problems with any other discs.
I have upgraded firmware to v1.62 but issue still remains.

BDP3200/12
Serial No.: SM1A1114009824
Software: 1.73
Blu-ray: Three Colours - Blue (EAN: 5021866024400)
Jerky / stuttering playback (visually) just like I described it before for From Dusk Till Dawn and African Queen. Less frequent in Blue, but annoying nonetheless. Will this ever be fixed? How hard can it be?!

Exact title of the disc: The Raid
EAN reference number of the disc: 8716777942345
Model Number: BDP 7500SL/12
SW version installed on your device: 1.12
Exact problem faced : Disk refuses to load. Drive grinds on the disk for about 1 minute and then displays Unknown in device display. Player then shows three icon menu (Play disk, Play from USB and Settings). If I select the Play Disk option the player will show a message on the TV that "This disk is unknown".

I bought the Philips Blu-ray BDP7500S2/12 in december 2010 and have been very content with it until recently, when it started to have problems with some new discs/movies. It says "unknown disc" and refuses to play the movie. In the beginning the problem solved itself when after a few tries it would accept the disc/movie in question. However one of last Blu-rays I bought "Battleship", was completely refused. To eliminate the possibility that I had a bad copy I exchanged itat the store, but this didn't solve the problem. It still refused this movie. This problem only displays itself with a few particular blu-rays and not with DVD's. I don't have any problems with my older movies as well as other new discs/movies/
My technical information:
Blu-ray player: philips BDP7500S2/12

Titel 2: We Bought A Zoo

Same problem on all discs : there's no sound on rear or center speakers when the soundtrack "ENG LPCM 5.1" is selected. There is some sound only on left and right speakers. HDMI audio is set on bitstream in the options.
I tried these discs on another blu ray reader connected to the same hardware and there is sound on the 5 speakers.
I have only one disc with LPCM 5.1 track where I have sound on the 5 speakers with BDP5180 : it's "Arthur et les minimoys" (EAN 3760062464642).Last edited by fafling; 02-07-2014 at 12:19 AM.

SW version : 1.62
Title : Le drôle de Noël de Scrooge 3D
EAN : 8717418284268
When reading the 3D blu ray with english soundtrack and french subtitles, if you move the subtitles, the reader stops responding to commands. Then, if you press the power button, "standby" is displayed on the reader but the film continues. The film eventually freezes after a few minutes. The reader has to be unplugged from mains to be stopped.
