My ideal TV for 2012 would be:

1. Full LED, Backlit with Local Dimming.
2. Over 150 LEDs
3. Non reflective screen.
4. Passive 3D.
5. Independent speakers ON/OFF when headphones are plugged in.
6. Not an over-thin TV which sacrifices picture quality for design.
