SA3ARA04K/02 ISSSUE WITH BBC iPLAYER
Hi, I can download iPlayer programmes (using the download for portable device option) and transfer these to my gogear OK. I'm running XP and Windows Media Player 11 - as required I run the video file for 10-15s with Media Player - where it plays OK - before transferring using Windows Explorer.
However, when I try to play the video file on my gogear it doesn't play and gives me an error message saying "DRM License Not Available" - despite the video playing OK when on my PC before transfering, and after transfer it will play OK through Windows Media Player whilst the device is still connected.
Can you please help?
Many thanks, John

How many files have you tried? Were you transferring on the day you downloaded them or had they been laying around on the PC for a while?
I have a slightly older version of the Ariaz and I know there were some issue from the BBC's end earlier this year, I haven't used it with iPlayer since but maybe it's happened again?

Thanks for your message paradiddle - I tried several files, all were freshly downloaded from iPlayer and the first 10s or so played via Windows Media Player. I'll try again as it's been a few weeks - just in case the problem has gone away.
Can I just check - have you been able to successfully download & play from on your player ?

Thanks for the link kwinnie. The files downloaded from iPlayer are .wmv, so I assume that the codec is fine. Have you ever been able to play these files ?

sorry i dont have such files.... so what i hv suggested are just some generic information for video playback
noticed it's in wmv format, however, it still depends on the sampling frequency and bit rate etc... if the codec info of your file is out of scope of those your player support, it cannot play.
i'd like to understand more :
1) are you using songbird for file transfer? since songbird should have converted your file to some format and standard that your player supports... so if a file is transferred through Songbird, not window explorer, then it should be supported...
2) if you are already using songbird :
then you can transfer one smaller file to the other user (i can help testing also) or the moderator to see what s the problem that these files are not supported.
