Blue backlight on DCM580
Hi All,
Does anyone know how to turn off the blue backlight permanently on the DCM-580, I have turned it off using the + button on the preset in standby. But it only stays off while the unit is on, as soon as I turn it on againg it reverts back to the light being on. Is there anyway to turn it off permanently???? The sound also comes on really loud, after the unit has been on standby, this is very very annoying!!!
Thanks everybody,
-

Hi Bo'c,
Are you trying to turn the backlight off which the unit is in standby or when you are operating the unit?
You cannot turn the backlight off when the unit is in operation however when in standby the backlight will turn off after 15mins if no button is pressed or by pressing the preset + button for 2 seconds.
Kind regards,
Gary

Hi,
I am trying to permanently turn off the light behind the iphone/ipod holder lights up when the unit is in operation. I have turned it off using the + preset button when in standby but it resets everytime so I have to turn it off again.
Thanks,
Bo'c

Hi Bo'c,
Unfortunately you cannot turn off the light while the unit is in operation, this is only possible in standby.
Thank you for your feedback regarding this feature. We will look into the possibility of including an option to disable this light in future but cannot confirm if this will be introduced.
Kind regards,
Gary

Hi,
I don't think you understand me, I do not want to turn off the light while the unit is on. I want to permanently turn off the light so that when the unit is turned on the blue back light does not light up. I can turn it off while the unit is in standby and it will be off once the unit is turned on immediately, but if I leave it in stanby for a couple of hours and turn the unit on the backlight is on again even though I had turned it off using the + preset button in standby mode. Does this always revert back to being on no matter what?
Thanks,
Bo'c

Hi Bo'c,
Yes the light will always revert to being on.
When you operate the device the backlight will turn on, this will turn off again when the device enters Eco Standby mode.
Unfortunately there is no way to permanently disable the backlight.
As mentioned earlier we will look into the possibility of including an option to disable this light in future but cannot confirm if this will be introduced.
Kind regards,
Gary

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the info, I appreciate your help. I think it would be worthwhile including in a future update as it can be very bright if the unit is kept in a bedroom.
