Diskerror when trying to format Iomega Prestige USB drive with 42PDL7906 TV
When I tried to use USB recording with my 42PDL7906 TV and a brand new Iomega Prestige 500 Gb USB 3.0 / 2.0 drive the whole formatting procedure seemed to go smoothly until the last few seconds when the TV signaled a "disk error - check USB drive". Reformatting on a PC and repeating the procedure gave the exact same result: disk error. Returning the drive to the Media Markt and trying again with a new identical Iomega drive: again - disk error. Reformatting the drive by a Media Markt technician, no result. In my opinion the problem is either caused by an incompatibility between the Iomega drive and TV or by a problem with the TV itself. Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Any solutions?

Hi,
can you please point out the firmware version? Not only "latest firmware"? I'm asking, cause often you can install newer updates via USB that available via integrated TV update...

Formatting error
Hi
I have a similar problem with my new 37PFL9606K02 TV and the complete new toshiba stor.e alu 2s external drive (usb3.0 and 2.0 compatible) After connect the disc with the TV, the formatting process is startet, but after formatting, is checks the writing speed and give an error message that the formatting process is not finished, the speed is not enough. But the disc has a writing speed which is more than enough normally.
I checked also the firmware, it is Q5551-0.14.79.0_bld1a Release for TV550R3
what is the problem??? I have no idea
Thanks for your help

after a firmware update to version 0.14.91.0bld2a (from 13.dez.2011) the problem is the same,
after formatting the writing speed test failed, i should use a disc with higher speed. but usb3.0 has enough speed and the disk is usb2.0 compatible

USB schrijffout?
I connected an 1 TB iomega harddisk type ego. The TV formatted the disk and performed a speeds test. Everyhting seemed to be OK. When I tried to record, either programmed or by means of pressing the Pause button, I got the message USB schrijffout (USB write error) and an advise to "controleer de disk" whatever that may mean. No further clues. Has anybody any idea? Thanks Pierre.

i work in a electronics store, and we tryed quite a few of these iomega prestige drives, and all of them failed working, we usually use the seagate expansion portable drives instead, they work just great

Hi Thomas
i have the FW from the 13. Dez installed and the status is the same as before. I also tryed a samsung S1 mini with 250GB. With this disk the formatting process and speed test was ok but if i will record any program, i get an error message, ("problems writing on disk")
