Dear caterp1llar,
Apologies for coming back to this lately as we encountered some difficulties ordering/shipping these discs.
Today we tried burning some MKV files into the BD-RE disc, the disc was recognized by the BDP5200 and it was able to playback the MKV clips. We tested on BDP SW version: 1.35.

For burning the disc, we have a PC software to recommend. Please check your inbox for more info.

Quite strange. Today I tried burning discs with the software you recommended and it still doesn't work for me. The same problem: the player says that it can't recognize the disc. I tried to burn Blu-ray movie (BDMV / CERTIFICATE structure) and just MKV files, but it didn't work neither...
