Great FREE 3D documentary (German language)
Hi,
the german broadcaster ZDF offers a great German 3D documentary: "Die Huberbuam in 3D".
You can watch this documentation via the ZDF Mediathek or you can download it for free from: http://huberbuam.zdf.de/ZDFde/inhalt...352935,00.html
I watched the 12 MBit version (Side by Side) via my BDP9600 on my 2010 TV. It works great.
Customers of a 2011 3D TV should install the latest firmware (14.7x.0). Then they should be able to watch it directly on their TVs (via USB or Net TV).

Great pointer, thanks!
Just tried it, but unfortunately, it didn't work for me in 3D.
When I start it from ZDF Mediathek, I only get side-by-side, but then cannot activate 3D (option is "greyed out")
(For the youtube app, it does work by the way)
My setup: 32pfl7606K / Q5551-0.14.84.0_bld7a
Any ideas?
Matthias

^ has anyone actually been successful watching this 3D documentation in 3D from the ZDF Mediathek?
On my pfl7606, I cannot activate 3D for that stream.

Just tried to watch the downloaded version through DLNA on my TV (with TVersity) - unfortunately, it stopped after a few secods after the "Left-Right" counter, so I can't really watch it.
Can anyone confirm this movie works directly on the TV?

Workaround: MUX into .mkv
I just tried a workaround, which works to play the documentary over USB on the TV:
If you convert it to MKV, the player does not stop after the first few seconds.
It looks like (maybe due to some editing) the movie stream has some strange frames between Trailer and Main part, that cause the Philips TV player to crash.
While the "normal" PC players correctly handles this, the Philips TV player crashes.
Update: Actually, remuxing using mkvtoolnix GUI is enough - reencoding is not necessary to make it work. This should speed things upLast edited by matthias; 11-28-2011 at 09:28 AM.

I could not get it to run either as it was. It stopped every time after the left/right eye counter, both on USB and from my PC.
I then used the DivX converter to convert it to .mkv and that played perfectly.
