tv connected to pc via hdmi = blinking pixels
first of all
English isn't my native language
so please be patient with me
, thanks in advance
37PFL5405H/12 , bought Approximately one year ago , even less
updated it to the newest version available
some days ago i bought asus-n53s laptop all the drivers are updated
all the display drivers and the windows updates
and i have cheap hdmi receiver from my satellite-tv provider
my problem :
the tv displays normally (normally means very nice) when connected to the receiver
when i use the same (working, proven) hdmi cable to connect my PC to the tv
it displays 2~4 seconds normally
and then blinking green pixels appearing on the screen
those blinking pixels i will call them "noises" have some pattern
some of theme are constant around the "borders" of any displayed image
Example : if i watch a basketball match (and pause the game)
there will be blinking pixels surrounding the ball ant the people etc
and there are some "random" "noises" all over
more often on dark areas .
i had connected (by using the same hdmi cable) my pc to LG and SAMSUNG tvs and had no problems
i tried the "re-install tv" and "factory settings" and it hadn't done me any good
when i use vga cable instead of hdmi i have no problems
re-installed new windows (on my pc) with the default drivers , same problem
how can i fix this ?Last edited by Sashka; 11-26-2011 at 01:10 PM. Reason: spelling mistake

"so by connecting the receiver to the TV via HDMi there are no "blinking pixels"?"
"the tv displays normally (normally means very nice) when connected to the receiver"
just to be absolutely clear
the answer is no
no noises appear when connecting the receiver to the TV via HDMi
furthermore
no noises appear on other TVs when connected to my PC via the same HDMi cable
"You might want to sahre some Pictures or a Video of this blinking pixels?"
yes . added to this replay
i have maybe found a clue
by trial and error i managed to find that when i lower the refresh rate to
30Hz all the noises disappear
i'm sure that the TV can manage more then 30Hz (doesn't it ?)
again ,my PC connected to other other TVs via the same HDMi cable had shown no noises
at 60Hz and higher
according to my satellite-tv provider the receiver's default refresh rate is 60Hz
so it staggers me why the TV is discriminating my laptop (so it seams)
again i'm stuck
the 30 refresh rate giving me nice headache after ~30 mins

Thomas i am apologizing in advance
if my comment will have more of a rough edge this time
i knew this answer would come , eventually
and i have to say that this "solution" that you offer me
"lets blame the other guy" kind of solution ... is very disappointing
and now , asus and philips are paying the "blaming game"
can u take a guess who suffers from this approach ?
doesn't the tv has drivers to ?
(it does and we update them from time to time to patch tv's firmware)
as to your question
well i did tested it with other PC's and had no problem and visa versa
it seams that only this tv with this pc are problematic
the graphic card of my pc is
nvidia 540M , has no known issues whit this or other TV
it recognize the tv by name so there is no "mix up" with the driver which is quit generic
the graphic card drivers and the windows drivers are fully updated
tested other PC's with the similar hardware (and drivers) :
i tested other pc with graphic cards from the nvidia brand and from the same series
had no problem .
tested other pc's with 2nd gen Intel® Core™ processor and again no problem
anyway , thanks for your time and effort .
