Is the NP3300 able to wake my desktop pc? (to send a magic paket)
Hi there,
is the NP3300 able to wake my desktop pc? My desktop computer needs to receive a "magic paket" to wake up.
Since my music collection is stored on the desktop computer, i would like to have the NP3300 to send a magic paket to it.
Thanks
bab

Hi babbaluba,
The NP3300 is not designed to wake up your desktop PC.
The product is able to connect to your PC via DLNA however if the PC is not on (with a media server running) the NP3300 will not be able to see it. Also the player is designed only to receive data not to send it.
Kind regards,
Gary

Hi Gary,
i do not like to hear this...it is a pity. Since energy saving is a really important topic nowadays you really should take care not only of your devices own energy consumption but also support the energy saving features of other devices, especially when you are selling music players.
Most of the philips TVs are also able to play music from network devices, but you are not able to wake up such network servers like home desktop computers.
That would really be a unique selling point for you products!
I am afraid i will have a look for a different modell (maybe not available at Philips)
Thanks for your help and please let us all know if you can provide such features!
Kind regards
babbaluba

Hi babbaluba,
Energy consumption is definitely one of the hottest topics out there today.
At Philips we're always aiming to increase our energy efficiency without compromising the product's performance or quality, with that in mind it's great to hear these kinds of ideas coming through and I have passed your suggestions to our development team.
As this is far from a simple addition I cannot confirm if or when such a feature could be included.
If you have other suggestions we would love to hear them, you can post these to the forum or through our Simply Innovate scheme
.
