difference between SHB9000 and SHB9001

What are the differences between the SHB9000 and SHB9001 bluetooth headphone?

Yes i think the 9100 is more confortable, right?
But the problem for me is with the 9100 there are no more 2 buttons for Forward and Rewind but just the same button as the volume.
I don't like the principle to press once for FW and twice for RW on the 9100.

Just to confirm the difference between SHB9000 and SHB9001: they are the same! The 9000 model was originally released in 2008 then re-released as the 9001 in 2010. The SHB9001 also comes in white as the SHB9001WT/00. They work exactly the same (functionality) and offer the same comfort level.

As Kwinnie mentioned the SHB9100 is a different product altogether. It has a slimmer headband and 'FloatingCushions' which would be more comfortable for prolonged use. So, if you do plan to wear them for long periods of time this may be something to take into consideration.

I understand that the 9100 is more confortable, but i don't understand why philips didn't keep the 2 physial butons (FW and RW).
For this reason (even if i would like a confortable headphone) i think i won't take the 9100 but a 9001

Did you also updated the annoying issues with shb9000 that when switching on was very easy to go in pairing mode?
Or does it have the same "firmware"?

And finally, what is the difference between shb9000 and shb9001?

Hi Andrea,

I will try to explain myself better.

1. SHB9000 ISSUE
When switching on the headphones you have to press the "play-pause" button for a longer time. Many times, the headphones does not only switch on, but goes in "pairing mode", thus you need to re-pair the headphones with the device.
It has been a quite annoying issue for me.

2. SHB9000 vs SHB9001
I would like to know:
a) if you solved the aforementioned issue;
b) if the change in product number means also a change in the device or just the re-release of the product.

3. SHB9001 vs SHB9100
I would like to know:
a) what are, if any, the changes in the functioning further than the external design (in particular the "pairing mode" issue) between SHB9001 and SHB9100;
b) how does it work with functionalities that requires longer pressure on the "play-pause" button which are not related to the switching-off of the headphones (e.g. iPhone 4S Siri activation). In simple words, if I press the button longer, will the headphone switch-off or activate Siri?

Apologies for coming back to you lately since we have some personnel changes.

For your question, “if I press the button longer, will the headphone switch-off or activate Siri?”, the answer would be yes, it will switch off the headphone. (As bluetooth headphone button does not function as the home button for Siri)

About Bluetooth headset for Siri,
1. Bluetooth multi function button cannot initiate Siri, user need press and hold “home button”
2. Using home button to initiate Siri, Bluetooth headset button can terminate it
3. Using virtual keyboard mic icon to initiate Siri, Bluetooth headset button cannot terminate it but can restart the voice command.

About the timing about the button,
Description
Single Press – no specific criteria
Double Press – two single presses within 0.25 sec
Long Press – press and hold for over 1.5 sec but less than 3.0 sec
Extra Long Press – pressing for over 3.0 sec

Sorry task some more clarification, the SHB9001 is the same headphone internal as the SHB91000? (reception distance, audio drivers, ...) The only difference is exterior and absence of a button?

Dear Emerik,

SHB9001 and SHB9100, as kwinnie said, are quite different.

1) Buttons and exterior are different as you mentioned.
2) Operation time is different - SHB9000 operates longer as its battery capacity is greater.
3) Acoustic profile and tuning are different - SHB9000 is with FullSound technology and SHB9100 is with Acoustic Enhancement Tuning.
4) USB charging - SHB9000 by mini USB; SHB9100 by micro USB.

However, in term of the followings, they are similar:
1) Operation range
2) Driver size
3) Support 3.5mm audio cable
4) Other basic funcitons like call, redial, voice dial etc
