BDP9500 picture 4x too large

Hello

I've bought the Alien Anthology BD collection, but i can't watch it on my BDP9500 connect via HDMI to my Philips 46PFL9704.

What happens is that as soon as one of the four movies (Alien 1-4) starts, the picture is four times as large as it should be - that is i actually see only the upper left quarter of the picture.
There's an intro from the directors - and that works all fine, it's only the movies themselves.

I've tried changing zooming on my PFL9704, i've tried changing HDMI resolution and aspect ration on the BDP9500, but nothing worked (as well as deleting the local cache). Both the BDP and the PFL have the latest software update, which is in both cases from 2010 - which especially concerning the BDP is pretty dissatisfying (that is, it implies that Philips is not investing in just two year old hardware anymore... )

Does anybody have an idea what i could do or what could be the cause.
